                         a windy day,
a moving work of public art makes the journey,
over the memory of bricks torn from the roots of a tree,
                         crossing the river,
                         from old to new.

when one door closes, another opens...

"Mobius (est. 1977) is a non-profit, artist-run organization, whose mission is to generate, shape and test experimental art. The members of the organization believe an effective strategy for supporting this art is to establish grounds that build relationships among fellow artists.  Mobius is committed to structuring environments that foster projects incorporating a wide range of disciplines.  This approach sets in motion situations where the artist's impact can be seen locally, nationally and internationally.  Constructing art initiatives outside accepted frameworks and encouraging animated discourse with the public are fundamental to Mobius." (Info page - mobius.org)

Please note: This Public Art Project is not officially endorsed or supported by Mobius, however, it expresses many shared artistic ideologies.   (Gary A. Bibb)

Public Art #4 (Installed Variation 4) is a collaborative effort by Gary A. Bibb and
Jane Hsiaoching Wang which was part of the global art exhibition: Chain Letter.
The exhibition was featured at 11 major international cities and concurrently on view
from July 16 - August 25, 2011. (However, the Boston exhibit at the Samson
Projects Gallery was limited to a one day presentation on July 16, 2011.)

The conceptual basis of the Chain Letter art project mimics communication today
and the way in which information is shared. Invited artists in turn invited 10 additional
artists they personally admire to participate in the exhibit. The outcome is a testament
to the power of connectivity within society during the early 21st century.

1st Century Roman Arch - Rijeka,Croatia

Tarsatika was an ancient settlement whose Roman traces can still be seen in
the old-town sector of Rijeka. A section of the original fortress wall and the stone
gate arch is found within the narrow streets and are all that remain of the once
impressive architectural structures.
